Couldn't you just jump at the chance to have so many socks you could wear a new pair every day for a month and not have to do the laundry for weeks on end? Now that is an interesting thought isn't it - over 30 pairs of socks sitting in your drawer just waiting to be worn. The only problem with so many pairs is that if they are all the same color and you lose one, it messes up the whole batch doesn't it? Love Socks? It's not easy keeping track of a bunch of socks all the same color when they hit the washer and dryer either, as there is always one or two that manage to get lost.
Did you even notice that no matter what you do with your same colored socks, that one or more always seem to go missing in action in the washer or dryer? Where on earth do these socks go anyhow, outer space, inner sanctum or in between the drum of the dryer and the machine? I know I haven't figured it out yet and I find it really frustrating to be short one or two socks when I do the match up routine when they're dry. That rotten sock eating dog of mine is likely at it again and eating my socks out of boredom and you ought to see the size of the holes she leaves.
While swearing at your washer and dryer may make you feel better, it won't find the missing socks nor will it encourage the dog to give you your socks back if she has them. That is really annoying, losing one sock each of a matched set of different colors, besides, how on earth do you make them look decent again when they're odd socks?
Have you ever noticed that if it's generally your fave pair of socks, the ones you wear almost every time you play tennis, those are the ones that go missing? I think I'd be quite happy to turn over the chore of sock matching to some soul who has a great deal more patience that I do matching up socks after laundry day. Honestly, that dog ought to learn how to knit and replace my socks but having said that her choice of colors probably wouldn't suit me either. That Jack Russell Terrier has a knack for picking the best socks out of the bunch. That dog gets away with pure murder.
