Silver Favors For My Beautiful Reception Tables

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

When planning my reception, I already had in mind what I wanted our reception tables to look like. I wanted shine, I wanted sparkle, and that’s why I decided on silver favors for each of my guests. Not only would my friends and family like their thank you gifts, but they would add to the décor of all my tables as well. I’ve always had a passion for shiny things, I like the sparkle of diamonds, the glitter of gold and the special elegance of silver. So I thought I’d make my wedding ceremony and reception a thing of beauty.

At my ceremony I wore a beautiful diamond necklace and earring set and each of my bridesmaids had gorgeous shiny necklaces too.  Even my little flower girl wore a sparkling necklace and earring set. They may not have all been diamonds, but they shined like they were. Everyone in our wedding party looked so elegant and the little ring boy in his tux was simply adorable. He worked so hard at holding on to that pillow all the way down the aisle. Everything turned out exactly the way I hoped it would and everyone did such a fantastic job to make this a perfect wedding ceremony.

The reception was all I hoped it would be too. All my tables had the sparkle I was going for, including our fabulous bridal table, with all the beautiful crystal champagne flutes and glassware, the crystal handled cake serving set and our fantastic wedding cake topper. Everything looked so beautiful and elegant, like a table set for a king and his queen. The reception tables for our guests also had crystal champagne and wine glasses and gorgeous centerpieces that were candelabra vases with crystals hanging from them, and at each place setting was little heart place card holders. At each table setting was also very decorative favor boxes with a little silver favor as a thank you gift, for all our friends and family.

There were so many pictures taken that evening at the reception. The photographer took photos of the bridal party, the little flower girl, the handsome little ring boy, and of course the bride and groom. We had several pictures of our parents and other family members too.  We snapped a picture of our own, of my grandparents dancing to a rock and roll tune. They looked so cute on the dance floor. We cut our cake, did our toasts, danced our first dance together as man and wife and then it was time for the infamous garter toss.  Which, by the way, I also got these gorgeous wedding garters in the same place I bought all my other accessories.  They really have some very sexy leg garters to choose from. I bought a white laced one for my wedding to go with my dress, and a lacy red one for the toss. All the guys stood there with as much anticipation on their faces as the girls did at the bouquet toss. After it hit the floor and there was a big scramble between the guys, our best man rose up out of the crowd with garter in hand.

We stayed at the reception a little while longer, dancing and talking with our friends and family, then we left for our honeymoon.  After we came home from our trip, there was a lot of little cards in our mailbox, thanking us for the lovely silver wedding favors and the wonderful time they had at our reception.  I thought that was very sweet that they took the time to do that, and I’m very glad they had such a great time.

Silver Favors Would Look Lovely With Any Themed Wedding

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

So many themes to choose from, I couldn’t make up my mind which I wanted for our wedding ceremony and reception. My fiance said it didn’t really matter to him, he was leaving all the details and decisions up to me. Big help, right?

So I imagined each and every theme, that was even plausible to me, to see which one I felt more drawn to.  I started with the western frontier wedding, and I have to say, it sounded pretty good. There is so much you can do with a country western reception. There’s barn dancing, barbecues, hayrides and so much more. The best part is the decorations for such a theme wouldn’t be that hard to come by. I found a lot of accessories for weddings and receptions that fit the theme. So, for a while, I was really leaning towards country western.

Then I pictured a beach wedding and reception, with tiki torches, a silk or satin canopy draped over the altar and the sound of the ocean in the background. The reception tables filled with ocean themed centerpieces and beautiful beach themed silver wedding favors at each place setting.  That would really be a fantastic reception party, dancing in the warm sand, swimming, and maybe a little clambake on the shores. Oh, and think of all the fabulous seafoods I could serve. I had just about decided that a beach themed wedding is the perfect one for us, when I came across a beautiful garden wedding theme.

All the bridesmaids could be dressed in lovely floral summer dresses with straw sun hats and little white gloves, just like a big tea party.  All the gorgeous flowers to choose from for centerpieces and bouquets, and the ceremony site would already be decorated with all the beauty of nature. My reception tables would be set up with gorgeous glassware and china, with little place cards and silver favors at every setting. It sounded so perfect.

But I think the most beautiful outside wedding of all would be an autumn themed wedding. All those gorgeous fall colors all around and the smell of the crisp clear air. That is my favorite time of the year. I could have brown table cloths with brunt orange napkins, and centerpieces that hold all the lovely fall colors, red, gold, brown and a beautiful burnt orange. I found gorgeous fall wedding cake toppers and other accessories for the perfect autumn reception. Infact, I’ve found a lot of accessories and supplies for all the themed weddings and receptions.

One more to check out was the storybook wedding. Oh the beautiful suggestions and ideas there were for that. Castle cake toppers, royal coach place card holders and so, so much more. With a ceremony and reception like that, you couldn’t help but feel like royalty. I know there are places in the U.S. that have castles you can rent for just such an occasion. How fantastic would that be? To have a wedding ceremony and reception in a real castle. Maybe leave in a fancy carriage like cinderella and prince charming.

The more themed ceremonies and receptions I check out, the more confused I am. They all sound so wonderful and there is such a selection of supplies and accessories for each and everyone of them. I don’t know which I’m going to pick yet, but one thing I know for sure, I have my heart set on having crystal glassware and a silver favor for each guest, because, I think silver and crystal would look great on any themed table setting.
